Elvin A. Kutzner, 83, of Olathe, Kansas, formerly of Marshalltown, died Friday morning, May 18th, in Olathe.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 23rd, at the Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Daniel Johnson officiating.
Born on August 28th, 1928, at LaMoille, Iowa, he was the son of Ernest and Rose Kutzner, Sr. He attended school in the LaMoille Schools and the area Lutheran Schools. He was united in marriage to Barbara Hubler and later to Margie. Elvin was employed many years at Lennox Industries and later moved to Olathe where he owned and operated an upholstery shop, taverns and prior to retirement a pawn shop. He was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marshalltown and the American Legion.
Left to cherish his memory are two sons- Gary (Pamela) Kutzner of Marshalltown and Jerry (Cindy) Kutzner of Marshalltown, four grandchildren- Kimberly (James) Huseboe of Rhodes, Angie (Mike) Trachta of Marion, Iowa, Jamie (Alicia) Kutzner of Waverly and Julie (Chad) Hill of Des Moines, nine great-grandchildren, his sister Gloria Bennett of Marshalltown, several nieces, nephews and his former wife Margie in Olathe.
In death, Elvin rejoined his parents, brothers- Wayne, Merle, Ernest Jr. "Top", Larry and Wallace and sister Vivian Campbell.
He was laid to rest in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were James Huseboe, Tyler Huseboe, Dick Veren, Jamie Kutzner, Rick Beasley and Thomas Stotts.

No injuries were reported. Degner was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device. Damage to the Degner vehicle was estimated at $4,000 while the Kutzner car and the Monk pickup both received an estimated $2,000 each in damage

Wallace "Wally" Kutzner was born on Tuesday; January 27, 1931, in State Center; Marshall County, Iowa. He was the son of: Ernest and Rose (Busse) Kutzner. Wally graduated from the Marshalltown High School in 1949. On November 9, of that same year, he was married to Joan Marie Johnson in Marshalltown; Marshall County, Iowa. Wally was employed at Fisher Controls for 33 years until retiring in 1986. He enjoyed coin collecting, playing billiards and cards, poker, Sheep's Head, doing yard work and treasured his kids and grandkids. Wally was a man of few words that will be greatly missed by many. Wallace "Wally" Kutzner, age: 79, passed away on Saturday; January 15, 2011 at the Iowa River Hospice House in Marshalltown, Iowa. Those left to mourn his passing are: His daughter: Vicky (Dick) Veren of rural Albion; Marshall County, Iowa; his grandchildren: Peter Veren, Jennifer Kneeland, Michael Warner and Megan Warner; his great-grandchildren: Kyrie Kneeland, Tyler Kneeland, Jackson Kneeland, Ellen Kneeland, Anna Kneeland, Isabel Veren, Isaac Veren and Joshua Warner; his brother: Elvin Kutzner of Olathe; Johnson County, Kansas and his sister: Gloria Bennet of Marshalltown, Iowa as well as several friends.
