On 11 Aug 1864 when James E. was 26, he married Martha Ann Newsom (496) , daughter of Luke Newsom (210) & Elizabeth Parker (469), in Sand Creek Mm, Bartholomew, Indiana . Born on 8 Jun 1838 in Driftwood, Jackson, Indiana. Martha Ann died in Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana, on 5 Sep 1915; she was 77.
